DAY 2

Trujillo to Cajamarca: High altitudes and thermal baths 190 miles/300 km

Let’s get into business, we know you’ve waited long for this day! It’s time to kickstart your Xplorator CFMOTO 800MT and leave the coastal Pan-American Highway behind. Today’s ride takes us deeper into Peru’s rugged terrain, leading to Cajamarca at 9,000 feet. This isn’t just any city; it’s where Inca leader Atahualpa and Spanish conquistador Pizarro had their fateful encounter. After a day on the road, we’ll settle in for the night in Cajamarca, a place where history meets adventure. Also, we’ve got great news: our accommodation features thermal baths – perfect for an evening of relaxation after a long riding day.

Day 3

Leimebamba Bound: The Rider's Dream Route 150 miles/240 km

From Cajamarca to Leimebamba, tackle one of the most impressive motorcycle routes. A road filled with twists and turns that’ll challenge and thrill. Once in Leymebamba, be charmed by its hummingbirds and ancient tales. Feast on local delicacies, bask in genuine Peruvian hospitality and unwind in rustic bungalows. A night not easily forgotten awaits. Stay in Leimebamba.

DAY 4

LEIMEBAMBA TO KUELAP AND GOCTA 120 MILES/ 200 KM

We’ll head out to Kuelap, often dubbed the “Northern Machu Picchu”. We’ll take our time exploring this massive stone fortress, a standout among South America’s pre-colonial landmarks. From there, we’ll make our way to the Gocta Waterfall, where our day will end at a lodge close by, that offers views of the cascade and a pool for you to dive in and relax for the evening.

Day 5

Gocta to Tarapoto 220 miles/335 km

We bid farewell to the towering Gocta and rev our engines towards the gateway of the Amazon Basin. The journey to Tarapoto is a lengthy one, but the vibrant cloud forest and neighboring waterfalls make it a treat. This town is a popular base for those venturing into the Amazon. We’ll rest up in Tarapoto for the night.

DAY 6

Tarapoto to Tocache 195 miles/315 km

We continue our journey along the Amazon Basin, tracing the Huallaga River’s path. Our destination is Tocache, a key regional hub nestled within the basin. The day promises scenic views and the raw beauty of the Andes. Tonight, we lay our heads in Tocache.

Gear up for a thrilling day on the road as we head to Huaraz, the mountain climbing heart of Peru. We’ll be cruising by the country’s loftiest peaks with Huaraz nestled at a mighty 10,000 feet, a stone’s throw from the renowned Huascarán National Park. Tonight, we rest in Huaraz.

Day 9
